Areas of Research Interest

Maya Skowron is interested in gender aspects of leisure. Specifically, she examines low self-esteem and body image disturbance as motives and constraints for
physically active leisure.

Also of interest are:
- feminist media studies (women in media, TV channels designed for women)
- gender and tourism (body image as a motive for traveling – SPAs)
