Neighborhood Change, Social Capital, and Leisure as a Form of Collective Resistance Dr. Glover is completing an interpretive study of a neighborhood association in North Champaign and its efforts at community revitalization, which include leisure-related initiatives such as building a community garden and organizing a community festival. The neighborhood in which the study is being conducted is characterized by its diversity with respect to race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status of residents. In part, the project aims to explore how a diverse group of residents mobilized itself at the grassroots to work toward positive neighborhood change.
