Research Interests

Dr Alexandris' conducts research in the areas of sport, fitness, and recreation participation. He is interested in applying consumer behavior models in sport participation and suggest strategies for effective marketing, promotion and management of sport services / programs. Specifically, he has conducted research on the following topics: constraints on sport participation and their management applications, customer loyalty, perceived service quality, customer satisfaction, and consumer attitudes. Areas of application include private and public fitness clubs, municipal recreation programs, and university sport services.

Recent research projects include the investigation of both behavioral and service related aspects of Champaign Park District's recreational sport programs (in co-operation with Dr. James), the examination of sport participation patterns among ethnic minority groups (in co-operation with Dr. Stodolska) and the promotion of active life-style among local communities (in co-operation with Dr. Payne).
