Assistantships

Two Research Assistant opportunities through the Diversity Research Laboratory at the Department of Recreation, Sport and Tourism, University of Illinois.

Position 1

The Diversity Research Laboratory at the Department of Recreation, Sport and Tourism, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign would like to invite applications for half-time (50% - 20 hours a week) assistantships for Ph.D. applicants interested in conducting research in the area of leisure and ethnicity/race.

Assistantships are designed to support students interested in working on research projects on broadly defined issues of leisure behavior among Latino(a) minority members. Fluent ability to speak and write in Spanish is a prerequisite. It is desirable that the candidate will also have a good knowledge of the issues affecting Latino communities. Assistantships will involve work on research projects associated with the Diversity Research Laboratory.

Candidates must apply and be accepted to the Department of Recreation, Sport and Tourism, University of Illinois. The assistantships include competitive pay, health insurance, a tuition and partial fee waiver, and an ability to work in an exciting environment at one of the leading universities and departments in the area of leisure and ethnicity/race.

The Diversity Research Laboratory at the Department of Recreation, Sport
and Tourism, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign would like to
