Areas of Research Interest

Juan Carlos Acevedo is interested in conducting research with minority groups concentrating in Latino and Latina culture.  His area of interest expands into two general topics.  First, Juan Carlos wants to explore in-depth how immigration, transnationalism, ethnic identity, and discrimination influences minorities in choosing leisure activities and how it affects their experience within the field.  Secondly, he is interested in examining the cultural differences in leisure between first, second and third generation immigrants.
